SPLASH
This program is designed for families who are not members of the YMCA and have children who are first time or beginner swimmers ages 4-10 years or through 4th grade.  Basic swimming instruction, water safety skills, and character development are covered in a fun and safe environment geared toward your child's swimming readiness.
LESSONS MEET EVERY DAY FOR 5 DAYS.
Cost: $30
Day: Monday through Friday (June 14-18, 2010)
Registration begins May 10

Pre-School (Ages 4-6 in K) Youth (Age: 7-10 in 1st thru 4th)
1. 1:30-2:00pm 5. 5:00-5:30pm
2. 2:15-2:45pm 6. 5:45-6:15pm
3. 3:00-3:30pm 7. 6:30-7:00pm

Splash Birthday Parties
The YMCA of Gloucester County offers a 2-hour party block from 4:00-6:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays (1 hour for cake, presents, etc in our studio room and 1 hour in the pool).  A party host is provided to help you from beginning to end.  All food, decorations, utensils, etc are your responsilbity.  The birthday child will receive a special YMCA t-shirt.  Party guests will receive a party bag with goodies.  Only for groups with up to 25 swimmers.

Boy & Girl Scout Swim
Is your group working on an aquatic merit badge and need a place to swim?  If so, come over to the YMCA pool.  Bring a Scout Leader or use one of our certified YMCA instructors.  We offer an hour and half of pool time.  We do require 3-4 weeks advance notice.  Contact the Aquatics Department for schedule and information. 
Fee: $5 per scout (without YMCA instructor)
        $40 for YMCA instructor


Pool Rental Information
Are you interested in renting out the pool for a private function? We can offer the entire pool starting at 7:00pm on Saturdays and starting at 5:00pm on Sundays for $150.00 per hour for our members and $175.00 per hour for non members.  We do require 3-4 weeks notice to set-up a function and a $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE security deposit is required to hold the reservation. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to the function.  Contact the Aquatics department to schedule.


General Information

REMINDERS

• Showers are required for all swimmers prior to entering the pool.

• No shoes, food, drink or strollers are permitted on the pool deck.

• The glass door to the lobby is not to be used while programs are in session.

• Long hair must be placed in a pony tail before swimming. • Bandaids and gum must be thrown out.

• Lap Lane Disclaimer: Lap Lanes will be moved 5 minutes before all classes start.

• You must be a full member to utilize the pool during any open, adult open, family; adult lap and/or youth lap swims.

OPEN & FAMILY SWIM POLICY

• Children 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult IN THE WATER. No more than 2 children per adult, and must remain within arms reach at all times.

• Children age 9-12 years must have a responsible adult IN THE POOL AREA.

• Anyone wishing to swim in the deep end must take a deep end test first.

DEEP END TESTS

• Anyone wishing to swim in the deep end must take a deep end test. This is both a YMCA of the USA guideline and insurance requirement.

• The deep end test consists of swimming comfortably on top of the water 1 length of the pool and then treading water for 2 minutes.

• Upon successful completion, the swimmers name will be recorded must be worn to go into the deep end.

• Swim test will be held:
Monday - Friday 11:30 - 11:45am, 3:30 - 3:45pm, 8:00 - 8:15pm
Saturday & Sunday 1:15 - 1:30pm, 3:00 - 3:15pm, 4:00 - 4:15pm

ADULT SWIM

• Full member swimmers ages 18 and older may utilize the pool during these designated times.

• Adult non-swimmers are not permitted in the deep end, even with flotations devices (as per YMCA guidelines and insurance requirements.) 

• Lap Lane Disclaimer: Lap Lanes will be moved 5 minutes before all classes start.

ADULT LAP SWIM

• Anyone age 15 and older and swimming continuously may use the lap lanes.

• Circle swimming may be necessary during busy times.

• Lap swim is not permitted in the designated open swim areas.

• Lap Lane Disclaimer: Lap Lanes will be moved 5 minutes before all classes start.

YOUTH LAP SWIM

• Full member youth ages 9-14 swimming continuously may use the lap lanes.

• Circle swimming may be necessary during busy times.

• Lap swim is not permitted in the designated open swim areas.

• Lap Lane Disclaimer: Lap Lanes will be moved 5 minutes before all classes start.

SWIM LESSONS

• Parents are allowed to stay on the pool deck on the first and last day of classes. Parents are requested to wait outside of the pool area during the rest of the session to allow for optimal learning time for the children.

• Please do not use the glass doors to the lobby while programs are in session.

• Lap Lane Disclaimer: Lap Lanes will be moved 5 minutes before all classes start.

• Swim Instructors will NOT allow preschool swimmers into the locker rooms by themselves. Parents, please be sure to meet your child in the back hallway after class.
