If volunteering makes you feel good...
imagine what it does for others!
The YMCA is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization. By becoming a volunteer, you
can positively impact lives right in your own community. Volunteering
for the YMCA is fun and rewarding. You will become part of the Y family
as you make new friends, gain valuable experience, and feel a sense of
pride and accomplishment!
Volunteers of the Y:
-
Lead our Board of Directors and committees
-
Raise funds to ensure the Y is accessible to all members of the community
-
Coach our sports teams
-
Motivate and support youth
-
Extend a hand to help adults who want to do more, be more or live healthier
-
Advocate for the Y's efforts to influence policies and initiatives that positively impact our community
-
Participate in opportunities to give back and support neighbors
A volunteer partnership with the Y is not just a promise to serve, but
also a promise to deliver positive personal and social changes. We
offer opportunities for business leaders, community members, parents,
teens and individuals to give back and support their neighbors. By
volunteering, you are giving men, women and children of all ages and
from all backgrounds the resources and support needed to learn, grow and
thrive.
How can you become a Y Volunteer?
Board Volunteers:
Volunteers on the Board of Directors and/or its communities who advise
staff on policies, and monitor and evaluate the work of the YMCA.
Volunteers for Credit:
Provide school-required volunteer services.
Fundraising Volunteers:
Volunteers who participate in fundraising for the Y's Strong Kids Annual Campaign.
Program Volunteers
Provide enhancement to activities designed to meet the needs and
interests of the members, program participants and youth - such as youth
sports coaches.
Interns.
The YMCA believes that an on-the-job experience will benefit the
student, the community, and the Y. An internship with the Y offers a
unique experience where college students can interact with business
leaders, learn the ins-and-outs of a non-profit and help to give back to
the community.
