Private Swim Lessons

Private Swim Lessons must be signed up for in person. Private lessons are designed for individuals who would not benefit from a group lesson setting. In private lessons, the goal is to overcome a specific obstacle. Our Instructors are trained to create a curriculum with your goal in mind, in order to make the most out of your lessons.

Private Swim Lessons are 5 lessons for 30 minutes and they are 1 on 1.

$175.00 for members
$255.00 for non-members

  • Swim Lessons will be scheduled with the participant based on their availability, instructor availability, and pool availability.
  • Private packages and all make-up lessons must be completed within 90 days of purchase. Any incomplete lessons will not be refunded.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to receive a make-up lesson.
  • Cancellations must be made by contacting the Gloucester County YMCA by phone (856-845-0720) or by reaching out directly to your instructor. This must be a 24 hour notice to the instructor.
  • If a student does not show up to a scheduled lesson without prior required notification, the lesson will be forfeited.
  • Instructors will only wait 10 minutes for late arrivals. After 10 minutes, the lesson will be determined a “no show” and will be forfeited.

Group lesson if for any reason were to be cancelled due to weather or pool closures, that class will be made up. Instructor will schedule make up with the class.

Policies

Age Requirement for the Pool

Members and guests who are under 14 must always be accompanied by an adult member who is at least 18 years of age.
Parent/guardian must always remain in the pool area. If children are unable to swim, they must always wear a lifejacket, unless within arm’s reach of a parent in the water.

Appropriate Swimwear

Appropriate swim attire generally includes swimsuits designed for swimming:

  • one-piece or two-piece suits for women
  • swim trunks or briefs for men

Street clothes, underwear, and excessively revealing swimwear are NOT permitted.

Swimming attire should be clean, designated for pool use, and made of materials:

  • Lycra
  • Nylon
  • Spandex

The Gloucester County YMCA is committed to protecting the children we serve. While we cannot eliminate all threats, we want to do what we can to ensure that the children in our care are safe. When entering the Y all members, participants and guests must have a valid picture ID which will be scanned through a national child abuse database. If a sex offender match occurs, the YMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation, and remove visitation access. We appreciate your cooperation.
